Changing a routine can be difficult. But here is one that may make sense to you, especially if you have bleeding gums or history of heart disease.
Rinse, floss, brush…in that order. The act of brushing or flossing can actually release into your blood stream millions of harmful bacteria that reside in your plaque around your teeth. The oral bacterial population can be significantly reduced by first rinsing with an antibacterial non-alchohol mouthwash for one full minute before you floss or brush. Disturbing the plaque by brushing and flossing then becomes less risky for your health.
In terms of flossing, remember: Floss only those teeth you want to keep!
